The Sing Pao of August 20th complained that an American Marino had been acquitted on a charge of raping a Chinoso girl whereas three American soldiers had been sentenced to life imprisonment for a similar offence against a Janaposo. This was rogarded as evidence that the Americans woro doing all they could to please the Japanose whilst oxpecting the Chinese to do all possible to please thom (the
